Emerging Bible Teachers - with John Lennox

John Lennox is one of the most stimulating Bible teachers that I have ever met. He has this great ability to see and understand structures in Scripture, both within individual books, and also within the big flow of the Bible from end to end. He also has a great capacity to apply gods word in a very personal way and addressing issues which feel as if they are at the heart of our society.

This group is an amazing opportunity for 12 people to spend time over three years studying the Bible with John, and learning to think outside the box about the way that we approach gods word and then teach it to others.

John likes to teach in what he calls “Socratic" style, which means basically to facilitate a dialogue between the people in the group, and to push them to find answers to questions that they did not even know they had.

For this group, we are looking for tomorrow's Bible teachers. You should be somebody with some experience of teaching the Bible, but more importantly you should be someone with some opportunity to teach throughout the next three years so that we can help you grow in your use of this gift.

As with the other groups, we will have three mentors who will provide continuity of coaching and contact in between the twice-yearly meetings with John.

Our first meeting with John will be in Oxford on the 27th and 28th of March 2011.

Places are very limited so we would ask only those prepared to make a three-year commitment to apply. We would also ask that in your application you provide references and give an indication of how you will have opportunities to teach others.

If you are a Bible teacher, then this group will be one of the unique formative experiences of your life! Any questions please e-mail Tim@IFESEurope.org
