We want to help the Young Professionals who graduate from IFES groups to develop a deep Christian perspective on their profession and the world after University. So that they can:
We hope to pass onto them the wisdom of those who have gone before and who have been prepared to think 'outside-the-box' about the implications of declaring Christ as Lord.
In private and in church we are happy to say 'Christ is Lord' but often we act as if He is irrelevant to our professional or accademic world. If Jesus is really Lord then He cannot be irrelevant, and His impact on our lives should overflow into an impact on the world we live in as His Ambassadors.
Ordinary Christians in
ordinary places of work are the greatest missionary wing of the church -
but all too often are treated as pew-fodder. According to research by the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, 95% of Christians feel under-equipped to bear witness to Jesus in the one place that
Christians consistently spend quality time with non-believers - their
work.
In part this is because we have neglected the relevance of Jesus' life example and ongoing reign to the systems and structures that run our world.
We want to help the next generation of Christians learn to articulate
and enact for themselves what impact Christ's Lordship has on their
Professional lives.
